The Blue Hydrogen Debate
Methane is an incredibly powerful greenhouse gas. When you get to 3 or 4 percent loss, you might as well not bother,. You might as well just use coal or whatever you're done. The third issue is the carbon capture and storage in the blue hydrogen manufacturer. Current technology that's around is capturing about 50 percent of carbon emissions. It's thought that if you change from SMR, steam methane reforming to ATR or to thermal reforming, that you can get that to be much better. But they don't exist in the world.
