The Story of Maxim Litvinoff
The story of Maxim Litvinoff is one of the reasons why when I was studying World War II, I was pausing. In 1939, this man was the second most powerful man in Soviet Russia outside of Joseph Stalin. Now remember what's happening? Germany is not pro-Jew. There's something that they're very anti. And so Litvinoff would have been the guy negotiating with Hitler for peace. But he's a Jew and Hitler will not talk with a Jew. He's going to lose his power position in the Communist government. The Allies are going to form on January 1, 1942.
