Jerry Falwell resigned less than a year later and accused Jim Baker of being quote probably the greatest scab and the cancer on the face of Christianity in 2000 years of church history. The ministry owed nearly a hundred million dollars to various creditors and more than fifty five million dollars in back taxes. It quickly became clear that due to Jim's criminal mismanagement the ministry owed nearly  a hundred million dollars, according to reports.
