What Happened to the Liver?

Cambodia's civil war with the Khmer Rouge is described as "unspeakably brutal" There are a number of stories of people having their livers cut out and eaten in front of crowds because that becomes a thing. The bombing wipes out hundreds of thousands of people. And they blame it all on the people in the cities who are the center of the government forces.
