I saw some glimpses of success. I've seen some temporary transformations. The problem is that then people go back to their friends and to their communities where they're still using, where everybody else is shoving drugs at them. Economically, they can't afford to move away from there. There are no decent treatment facilities where trauma is actually dealt with. So yes, I saw some openings that were more than encouraging, but the template wasn't there for the long term healing. Nobody just heals overnight because they had one experience. Those experiences open something up for you, but then you have to be able to walk through that door and integrate what you've learned. These people don't have
