Clitoridectomy
The term clitorism entered the medical lexicon in 1854 being defined as an unusually large clitoris. Isaac Baker Brown claimed that epilepsy and nervous disorders were caused by unnatural irritation of the clitoris. 100 years later, James Bertavio Hayo wrote women are structurally inadequate for intercourse. This is a pathological condition amenable by surgery. And his surgery often include removing the hood of the patients clitoris along with other vulva alterations.
