Sedentism and the Fertile Crescent

The fertile crescent wasn't just an ecological region, it was also a cultural one. A subsistence strategy with intense processing of cultivated but not domesticated cereal grains is a lot like that of Jericho hundreds of miles to the south in the Jordan Valley. We have no idea who the first people to start deliberately cultivating wild grasses were or where they lived. By about 10,000 years ago, about 1,000 years after Jairfelachmara was abandoned, a lot of people were doing so.
