The Narrative of the Atomic Bomb
When I was a kid, we were all told the atomic bomb was great because it saved lives. So that was the narrative. And I would say almost all of the children who I was a classmate with when we were young, we all heard this story, it was drummed into our heads and we believed it. But what you're saying basically is Japan was about to surrender, Japan was surrendering. The race to build a bomb and use the bomb was not to defeat Japan, but in order to use the bomb. In other words, it was its own end. Yeah.
