Mongols, Manchus, Uighurs and Tibetans are among the top 10 ethnic groups in China. They occupy so-called coal ethnic regions where there are major local majorities. The inner Periphery groups were more incorporated because they were just close by. But the frontier groups pose much more challenging for China's job of nation building.
