Martha Beck: To realize there are no grownups that we're all just bit bopping around like, like the boys on the desert island, all the grownups are gone. What the hell are we going to do? Right? Oh, yeah. Of course, institutions are the grownups. I just did that. And that means that we can be kids forever. We just keep going to church and keep going to our corporation. Then we don't have to ever be free. It's terrifying. Because we're not taught to do it at all. We're socialized to be unfree.
