Asist Control - What's the Most Common Mode?
The most common mode, controlled mode is assist control or a c. Can be either this can be a volume or pressure cycled mode. The two modes are indistinguishable when patients are spontaneously breathing. There is some thought that maybe assist control is more restful for the respiratory muscles than s i m v. This may be the reason we use it more in medical patients.
