The Effects of Dopamine on Dreaming

The part of the brain that generates REM sleep releases a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine, which activates the forebrain. Anti-psychotic medications still to this day block activity in this pathway by blocking dopamine. That led me to the hypothesis that this is the circuit that generates dreams, rather than the circuit that generating REM sleep. I then proceeded to test that hypothesis by means of the experimental method that popuses we must use.
