I want to be clear here because if you look at the base rates alone, no one would ever start a small business. More than half of individual equities have catastrophic losses over their lifetime. The life of an average stock is nasty, brutish, and short. And so make sure you have an edge, make sure you've done your homework and don't never take the shot. Just make sure it's an informed shot.
