In the days of python, it was difficult to compile and build. The standard library had a lot of useful bits and pieces that could be used in other ways. It just shows how far we've come, right? That these were even problems that we used to have. Do you do you think if python were designed to day from scratch, this is the kind of language we want it would be packaged in the same way that it is now? Like, wouldit have us start a large, standard library? I intend it was even much more expensive in germany.
