After the proscriptions, Sella also took away the civil rights of their sons and grandsons. The thought was that this would keep those resentful children from one day rising up to toppling the order he established. But it seemed so harsh. And other measures that he took, well, he could claim that they were aimed at stabilizing the state that he founded.
