The big surprise this year is that if the consumer gets what looks like, let's say, a 5% raise or for that matter, retiree gets an 8.1% COLA. This will be a great year for consumer purchasing power. Their wages are going up higher than inflation. Your raise is going to be running at 3% above your cost of purchasing things. That is going to keep us out of this recession.
