European learning has rested on the assumption that all essential categories of thought had already been devised by the 5th century BC. Education must show quite explicitly at every level that the battery of concepts borrowed from Plato and Aristotle in the Bible is not adequate for the 20th century, he says. The unique and astonishing thing about human beings is their capacity to observe and analyze the contents of the world around them but their capacity to create. Every one of us is an artist with words. We don't just imitate old sentences. And as you speak you generate consciousness. What you create is yourself. That is a God-like activity. It is time that we had done with that."
