Is Negative Gearing a Good Idea?
Not all properties stay negative forever. They move to a point where they reach breakeven or equilibrium and then they move into positive territory. So it's not forever this loss making venture that just goes into the never, never. The government is looking for ways in which you can regain that tax revenue. And I take the view of when the property is sold, if it is eventually sold, then you're going to see obviously a very large capital gain occur.
