George Eliot is probably one of the greatest English novelists of all time. Her novels like Middle March and Mille Mafloss are infused with Christian morality, Christian ethos. But she was an atheist in Victorian society; Charles Dickens was a Christian. Nietzsche savaged her for being " parasitical on a Christianity that you explicitly disavow"
