Google Search Copilot - What Is the Transformer?

The GPT is the name for the natural language models that are produced by OpenAI, who are our partners on copilot. The transformer refers to the architecture of these models. They were introduced in a very influential paper from 2017 from a number of Google researchers. And they've transformed as kind of the dominant way of constructing these large language models.
