In roughly 2000, 2002, Americans were consuming on average about 45 hours a week of media. Fast forward to 2020, 2018, 2019, it's over 80 hours a week. The rates of just about every major mental health issue are going up double digits at the same time. So what is going on in our brains when we are consuming media? Well, that leads us to a conversation about the prefrontal cortex. We're starting to see that with some behaviors around social media and other online pornography.
