The After Effects of Slavery

During slave times, black people were believed to be designed to be slaves for white people. After slavery ended, one of the biggest problems was that now black people are roaming free and are not in their right place. We see all these different p&ed systems where the whole goal was to put black people back under the control of white people. And I'd say that though maybe not so overt, it's still subtly shaping how people gaze at black bodies.
