"My introduction to screenwriting came when I was 12 after seeing dog day afternoon. And that was the first time I ever read a script," he said. "I realized, oh, this is what a screenwriter does. How incredible is that?" He went on to work at William Morrison Deaver in the mailroom for six months and became a talent assistant for others eight months before landing his big break with Luke Skywalker.
