The Regulators Are in Prime Position
Regulators turn mc sween's hone into a fortress. Windows barricaded with bricks, portholes drilled into the walls. This should be the moment when they overwhelm the house for good. But they make a mistake. Some soldiers in town, buffalo soldiers from near by fort stanton, and they fire on them. No one is actually shot, but the regiment's commander, colonel nathan dudley, says he now has cause to march his troops to town. Hutton told us dudley is likely taking kick backs on the lucrative beef contract that his fort has with the house. It's clear whose side he's on.
