Pope said good theory should proceed from some new, simple, powerful, unifying idea. Good theory must be independently testical, which is a challeng ing one. And third, good theory must pass new and severe tests. Do those new theories? So i might tie this together here. Yes, you might say that a pauper gives us the criteria, not just a new theory, but a new theory of method.
