The Equality Act, What's the Status of the Bill?

The House passed the Equality Act, which is now being considered by the Senate. The bill would redefine what's a "public accommodation," and it could affect everything from women's shelters to support groups for sexual assault survivors. It also yanks away one of the key defenses that people of faith have been able to use over the past couple of decades; they can't sue under this law.
