i think imperfection is a portal, whereas perfection and symmetry create distance. We meet one another through the imperfect particular of our bodies. A crooked smile is better than a crooked heart. Open me to god. I've been practising writing hiko, thinking about the flaw in the weave. In navajo, weaving rugs often have a spirit line and rent a symmetry that allows the spirit of the weaver to exit the rug. And i permanence is a symmetrical thing. This hyko took me, in a sense, ten years to write.
