The Principle of Effective Story Engagement, Courage and Kindness
Good story engagement starts with a deep desire in your gut for the storyteller to experience freedom where they are bound. kindness is not, it's not the same as niceness. They don't need merely a listening ear. So much of our harm, my harm, is being left alone to deal with our trauma by ourselves. Kathy: One of the biggest heartaches and heartbreaks for me as other people have engaged my story is when they turn their face away.
