Charlo Bishop: My parents did a great job of teaching me that being by racial wasn't something to be looked at as a disadvantage, but really was my advantage. As i grew older, it just created this duality in me of understanding that there was a part of me that was, in some circles,. i was the black friend, and in other friend circles, i was the white friend.
