The Total Number of Days in Daniel's Prophecy
Three periods correspond to the period of tarrying in egypt and are, according to jordan, the period of antiochus epiphanes. The half a time is the great tribulation that precedes the final destruction of jerusalem. Karon newsom helpfully writes, hartman and delelle shrug their shoulders and say that the symbolism alludes to day's readers completely. What they fail to see is the pattern of what is left over from the original prediction,. which amounts to forty two months.
