The science of trend following is a relatively new phenomenon that people connect these words together. It's been scientifically proven or shown with data that value investing works because investors don't want to hold those stocks when they go down. There are other examples in the markets where you're actually providing value to the markets by doing a certain thing, right? That's what makes it lasting - there's no way for 800 years you could find some gimmick that makes money if nobody else knew about it.
