One of the fears is that these machines can run an exponential growth. If they can exponentially create a machine smarter than them, we have no evidence of it at all. We actually have the opposite. What's growing exponentially is the amount of resources that we're devoting to it in order to produce a gain.

On his 68th birthday, Kevin Kelly began to write down for his young adult children some things he had learned about life that he wished he had known earlier.
