Evolutionary Hoaxes Aren't Costly

Evolutionary hijacks are often not costly and that's why they're allowed to survive. Mismatches generally exist when there just hasn't been enough time for evolution to deal with it. But unlike junk food, our taste for intoxicants is like neither one of these things. It's on par with junk food in terms of its negative impact on the body. And so this is the puzzle is why evolutions let this happen. One possibility is it just hasn't figured out a cure for it.
