Settlers were outnumbering africans on the north american mainland. London decided to eliminate threats posed to their existence and survival from french, canada, quebec and from spanish florida. But perhaps because the settlers were so accustomed to getting things for free by dint of slave labor, they were in no mood to pay taxes. This creates a very combustible situation that explodes in 17 75 17 76 - triggering what many call the American revolution.
