In fidelity is drive innate immunity. The idea that pattern recognition receptors detect pathogens and defend this from pathogens has largely been proven out through genetic analysis. If you knock out specific toll-led receptors, the C. gas pathway, things like that, which recognize microbes, you have problems with controlling infection. It's a very simple kind of arrow that you draw.
