There are three potential ways in which des das is less dangerous. He might be popular because he knows how to pick for right enemies and so on, i don't think. It's unclear when mes an ideal or cynic. And his incentive structure is different than that of somebody who's the kind of natisis. But we know that donald trump would do that, and we just don't yet know that about dissenters.
