Bruce Nickel's Death
Stella Nickel was the sole beneficiary of about $76,000 in insurance on her husband's life. Bruce Nickel's original autopsy report concluded he died as a consequence of emphysema. As it was being investigated as a homicide, insurance wise, it was considered an accidental death. Stella disputed the report from the moment it was handed down. She instead called authorities a week later to bring attention to herself and let investigators determine Bruce was murdered.
