How Long Did Young Stickland Stay in the Shropshire Light Infantry?
Strickland served in the shropshire light infantry until he was 34. He got into debt, keeping up with it by mixing with people who didn't have money. The colonel tried to stop him resigning, but he insisted on quitting aged 21. His elder brother paid some of his debts and warned him that he needed to be a bit more careful about spending money in future.
