The Relationship Between Mucin and Tumors
There was no clear link between the presence of mucin and cancer recurrence. Patients with mucinous tumors had a higher frequency of undergoing open resection instead of laparoscopic resection compared to those with non-mucinous tumors. The study explored survival with a Kaplan-Myer curve, who was observed that among patients with mucinous degeneration, fewer passed away than those with other types of tumor.
