Uganda's Oil Pipeline
Uganda discovered oil in 2006 and a deal was reached between the French energy giant total energies and Chinese energy farm, Cinoc International. The pipeline is more than 1,400 kilometers and it will run from Western Uganda past the Marcheson Falls National Park,. across farmlands and all the way to the Chongolayan Peninsula. There's concern about environmental impact as well as people who have had to be moved away from their lands that they have not been sufficiently compensated.
