The Stereotypical Latina Woman in Modern Family
The first season of Modern Family won six prime time Emmy awards, an average 9.49 million viewers per episode. While most audiences loved the show, Sophia definitely got some negative feedback from viewers who accused her and the show of perpetuating stereotypical qualities of Latina women. In a response to that, Sophia said, I always laughed about it because if Gloria was stereotypical, then that's just what I am.
