The American Century - The End of History

The United States has shown a reluctance to sign on to new international institutions. At the same time, you have the united states basically asserting authority to intervene militarily in order to re shape different kinds of principles. The problem here is that they're doubling down on one element of thethe cold war politics but without the other element that was really key - uni polarity. And once those constraints are removed, and there is really no external limitations on the u.s willingness to engage in unilateralism, the continuous resort to unilateralism itself ends up undermining the order that makes sense.
