How Did You Really Feel When You Were 18?
The prologue is the story of a couple onths after i came out of the closet. For many years, i told this story as if it were funny. And so i think im getting to the place to write this prologue took a whole reorientation of my understanding of myself and this story so it was very emotioonally hard. But when i sat down to rewrite it, to write it and like really put myself back at the place, i just felt like so sad for my 18 year old self that i wanted my parents to love me so badlyThat i was willing to give up the thing that i knew was very true about myself.
