CHAPTER

The Cold War and the Model Capitalism

In the 60s a race riot became, you know, black people sometimes kicking the shit out of white people right or wrong. The narrative is that civil rights was won through nonviolent Gandhi and peaceful resistance but in fact it's one-sided violence. This this whole thing of I have a dream and blacks and whites living together equally with equal respect transitions into black power where black people are saying we want to be seen and respected,. You know, in our own and on our own right. That has a profound way in terms of how it asserts itself in the street. But it is tethered to the Cold War. So again you see it tied to geopolitics.
