FIFA's head of communications Hans Klaus says corruption is too strong a word. Qatar and the whole Middle East got more powerful they can just offer much more especially money wise than other countries. FIFA decides that 2018 will only be contested by Europe this leaves the rest of the world battling it out to host 2022. The Qataris insist it was a fair contest and that Fadra is not telling the truth. Two members of the executive committee will be banned after being caught in a newspaper sting appearing to accept bribes. This unusual setup raises the prospect of collusion and vote swapping. According to Andy Anson that was an open secret.
