Private REITs and Individual Real Estate Assets Perform in a Downturn
Starwood Property Trust reported a $140 million profit, up 53% from the same period in 2021. While Starwood seems to have turned the corner on that rough patch that public REITs went through, it's still pretty rocky for other firms. Blackstone for one is still limiting withdrawals from B REIT. The index that tracks REITs has fallen about 25% year over year.
