The Importance of Goals in Activities
Aristotle distinguishes between activities that aim at something external versus activities that aim, so to speak, at the very activity itself. In German, they have a special word for going for a walk, spazir. And we do have that in English too. So if you're walking somewhere, I can ask you, where are you going? What are you trying to get? And you won't have accomplished walking there until you get there.
