A great Vedic sage had his reasons for taking revenge on Indra. Vishnu arranged that when the mantras were being chanted, Saraswati would go on the tongue of the sage who was chanting the mantras and make him mispronounce the mantras. The effect would not be quite what he thought it would be. He didn't notice it. And so, the great demon was born, Vritra Sura. We have read these stories as kids in India. Swami Sarvapriyananda teaches the Mundaka Upanishad which one of the major Upanishads belonging to the Atharva Veda. Mundaka means ''shaved'' like a shaved head. The teachings revealed in this Upanishad are meant to leave the student clean, or shaved of the veil of ignorance. Indeed, the study of this Upanishad has been traditionally confined to the shaven-heads, or the sannyasins, who have renounced everything and devoted themselves exclusively to contemplation.
