The Property Story Against the Comune Story
The internet has opened up like a second earth on which they can kind of map things out of fresh, says David Frum. The logic of capital is at least theoretically global or planetary and operates in happy dismissal of human borders, he argues. But there's also the territorial logic you know which intersects with capital to create patterns where capitalism sometimes works in a more abstract form said Frum. He thinks that some techno libertarians have this pretense that the internet is going to be all about community when in fact it's all about property and profit.
