The Importance of Time in Writing
The time-based element of writing as you're pointing out is so important because that's how humans thought and action is embedded in that kind of time and space. If a language model can generate a book in whatever it is, even if it takes a few minutes or something, then now there's this new artifact that is in some sense in competition with the existing artifacts. But there's more to it than that, right? Because there's a kind of opportunity cost to reading anything, because you could always be reading something else.
